IRONMAN Triathlon Race Held in Antalya with 1600 Athletes

ANTALYA - The globally followed IRONMAN triathlon race was organized this year in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, hosted by The Land of Legends in Antalya Belek. This prestigious event, organized for the 6th time, witnessed the participation of 1600 athletes from 86 different countries.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Turkey race, which took place between 27-28-29 October, began with a 1.9-kilometer swimming stage at Kadriye Public Beach. Following the swimming stage, the athletes completed the cycling stage that stretched all the way to the Expo 2016 area. The race concluded with a 21km running stage in the enchanting Shopping Avenue region of The Land of Legends.

Visitors who came to celebrate this special day supported the athletes and watched the fierce competition at Shopping Avenue. At the end of the race, there was an award ceremony and a jubilant celebration program specially organized for the 100th anniversary of the Republic, which garnered significant attention. The celebrations, enriched by an orchestra, a lantern parade, and the 29th October parade, provided unforgettable moments for all attendees.

IRONMAN is a global race series organized by the World Triathlon Corporation and hosts hundreds of triathlon athletes worldwide every year. This year's event in Antalya once again highlighted Turkey's significance and popularity in the sport of triathlon.
